Agaplesion Diakonieklinikum

New building

The Protestant hospitals Alten Eichen, Bethanien and Elim have formed the Diakonie-Klinikum Hamburg (DKH) since 2003. Together with CardioCliniCHamburg, Agaplesion Diakonieklinikum (formerly DKH) built a new hospital in Hamburg-Eimsbüttel, which was completed and ready for occupancy in 2013. This created a centrally located health centre serving the district`s population.
The main entrance is located on the newly created square at Hohe Weide and provides access to the five-storey new building. The hospital has 360 beds for the Agaplesion Diakonieklinikum and 25 beds for CardioCliniC. The new building in the heart of Hamburg provides medical care in the fields of internal medicine, geriatrics, surgery, gynaecology/obstetrics, anaesthesia and intensive care medicine. It also includes a geriatric day clinic and a 24-hour emergency and accident care unit. The design was created by the Tiemann+Petri architectural firm in the previous competition process. HENKE + PARTNER was commissioned for the property planning services (LP 2-9).

The project was funded by public resources.
