Renovation of central oR and radiology
Over a three-year renovation period, the existing central operating theater and radiology departments were completely reorganized while remaining fully operational. The central OR in the heritage-protected Building 1 at MKH features nine operating rooms, six of which were fully renovated, and four equipped with a fully integrated video management system (Olympus Endo-Alpha). Adjacent to the ORs are preparation zones with direct sterile corridor connections and a central induction area. The complexity of the project required execution in three major construction phases, allowing costly temporary structures to be avoided throughout the construction period. Structural reinforcements were also carried out in the underlying floors while operations continued. This was made possible through HENKE + PARTNER’s contact-point management system. The entire project was completed without the need for expensive site enclosures.
Completion was achieved on time and within budget.
The project was funded by public resources.
