New university CHILDREN´S Hospital

The new children´s university hospital at the UKE was built along Martinistraße in the Eppendorf district of Hamburg. The new building encloses an existing particularly protected tree within one of two newly constructed inner courtyards. The tree gives the ensemble a distinctive character. The new pedia hospital comprises a central OR with three operating rooms, one of which is a hybrid OR, a recovery room, an intensive care unit with a KMT unit, haematology, oncology, nephrology, neurology, cardiology and a neonatal unit. HENKE + PARTNER handled service phase 5 on the basis of guideline details.
