Kolbenhöfe, Construction Site 3.2

New building in Hamburg-Ottensen

In Hamburg Ottensen, a new urban residential quarter is being built on a former industrial site adjacent to listed factory buildings. The design framework and development plan were developed with the participation of residents and commercial tenants. The architecture refers to the history of the site as a production facility for the Kolbenschmidt factory in terms of its cubature and facade details.

Each building block encloses a green inner courtyard with playground equipment and relaxation areas, while old and new buildings form permeable courtyards. Commercial spaces face the central neighbourhood square and can thus contribute to the revitalisation and social interaction within the neighbourhood.

Construction site 3.2 is one of three construction sites in the Kolbenhöfe developed by HENKE + PARTNER.

The three buildings in this complex enclose the neighbourhood square to the south. The facade design references details inspired by the historic industrial buildings in the surrounding area. All apartments are further developed by a building community according to individual preferences.

The parking spaces in the underground parking will be equipped with charging stations for e-mobility.
