Tarpenbeker Ufer, Construction Site 1
New building in Hamburg-Groß Borstel
A new residential quarter with 750 residential units was built on the site of the former Lokstedt freight station. The new quarter, with a floor area of 118,000 m², runs parallel to the Tarpenbek tributary of the Alster. The building on construction site 1 was constructed with four or five storeys and has a floor area of 2,280 m². Only publicly subsidized apartments have been built, ranging from one-person apartments for single households to spacious four-person apartments for families. Furthermore, five flats offer space for special forms of living. The outdoor areas feature a green embankment to the south, which serves as a sound barrier to the railway line running behind it. In addition, numerous cycle paths and footpaths as well as a new pedestrian bridge over the Tarpenbek have been built.
