Tarpenbeker Ufer, Construction Site 5
New building in Hamburg-Bross Borstel
A new residential quarter with 750 residential units was built on the site of the former Lokstedt freight station. The new neighbourhood, with a floor area of 118,000 m², runs parallel to the Tarpenbek tributary of the Alster. The buildings were constructed with four to five storeys, resulting in a total floor space of 89,600 m². Various types of apartments were created, ranging from 1.5-room apartments for single households to spacious 4-room apartments for families. The appeal of the residential complex is enhanced by a daycare centre and several commercial units, a spacious public park with a playground and several green outdoor areas. These include the green embankment to the south, which serves as a noise barrier for the railway line running south. In addition, numerous cycle paths and footpaths have been built, as well as a new footbridge over the Tarpenbek.
