Project completion House 2, ENT
Opening After Four Years of Construction within Budget
After almost eight years of project work, we are looking forward to the opening of the ENT department at Marienkrankenhaus Hamburg on Friday, 23 August 2024!
The aim of the restructuring at MKH was to modernise the hospital for future-proof healthcare. Trends such as increasing outpatient care, changed care processes and pandemic-related requirements are thus reflected in the building structure, optimally positioning Marienkrankenhaus for the future. The project included the conversion of the existing building, the addition of a roof extension and the addition of an extension adjoining the existing building. Throughout the entire construction period since summer 2020, ENT operations were maintained and continuous care was ensured by dividing the project into three construction phases. Despite the pandemic and crises, HENKE + PARTNER completed the project on time and within budget.
Overall, the restructuring at MKH includes operating theatres, wards, functional diagnostics, etc., as well as a new ambulance access road. Optimised routing on all levels was achieved by concentrating staff, processes and logistics, offering users the flexibility to adapt to future reforms and changes.
Another special requirement was the responsible handling of the listed building: historical style and structural elements were taken up and translated into a harmonious addition. The external appearance with its cream-coloured façade, reddish guidelines and characteristic ornamentation was not only preserved but also further developed.
We would like to thank everyone involved in the project for their cooperation!
