Completion of the Waldplatz project
Filling of Prominent Vacant Lot in Leipzig City Centre
The urban district around Waldstraße in Leipzig is known for its multitude of architecturally distinctive buildings. The Waldplatz project is located in the heart of this Wilhelminian-style district and was developed in close consultation with the monument protection authorities and the city planning office. HENKE + PARTNER drew up the implementation plans for a total of 22 residential units and a commercial space for OWB. The building, designed by architects Langheinrich and Manke, has a security stairwell and blends harmoniously with the existing buildings in the neighbourhood. The rounded façade segments, which lend depth to the exterior of the building, posed particular challenges for the planning.
