Contribution New operation Center
Design to the tender OPZ at University Hospital Münster
Among a field of top-class candidate our team HENKE + PARTNER together with our cooperation partners KHR Architecture (Copenhagen) and Burckhardt Deutschland GmbH (Berlin) was deemed qualified for the second phase with a design part. In the consortium (ARGE) and together with Kortemeier Brokmann Landschaftsarchitekten we created a forward-looking design for the site at the university hospital in Münster (UKM). The new building design is situated in the immediate vicinity of the hospital landmark of Weber, Brand and Partner (1972-83). HENKE + PARTNER / KHR / BA jointly developed an innovative design concept with optimized process flows, compact OR-clusters and flexible ward structures.
Our HENKE + PARTNER design team was responsible for the development of the medical and procedural aspects for the OR-ward, intensiv care, emergency unit and CSSD in our consortium.
The design for the new operations centre (OPZ) at UKM combines modern medicine with human-centred spaces and a strong connection to nature: from the inviting entrance hall to the roof garden, a green thread in the form of differently designed and dedicated green spaces runs through the building. For the UKM, the OPZ creates a new entrance gesture and a health-promoting landmark in the campus development.
The consortium HENKE + PARTNER / KHR / BA has an outstanding expertise in the development of highly complex and innovative large-scale projects in the healthcare sector. The selection of our ARGE-Team for this procedure by one of the leading university hospitals shows our competitiveness and performance. We look forward to working on further innovative projects with our patners and thank the team for the outstanding commitment for this special project!
