Albertinen-Krankenhaus
New functional unit
On the grounds of the Albertinen Hospital, the functional areas previously distributed across different buildings were consolidated into a newly constructed functional wing, and connected to the existing building. As part of the project, areas in the existing building were also renovated and repurposed, including the functional diagnostics department. The new functional wing (including a new OR department with a total of ten ORs, a new central admissions and emergency department (ZNA), radiology and gynaecology and obstetrics) has overall dimensions of 85.80 m x 60.80 m and comprises four full storeys. The building has an atrium and is connected to the existing building via a three-storey hall. Other departments include a 42-bed intensive care unit, a cardiology department and functional diagnostics for urology, endoscopy and gynaecology. The building concept was designed on the basis of optimal clinical workflows. The project was delivered on time and within budget.
The project was funded by public resources.
