HENKE + PARTNER developed a customised design for the new LungenClinic building that is specifically tailored to the range of medical services offered by the clinic: the design concept "Lungs – Breathing – Air" runs through the entire building. The architecture creates the ideal space for the outstanding medical expertise of the LungenClinic and supports the clinic's special national and international reputation.

The LungenClinic is an official lung centre according to G-BA and an internationally renowned specialist clinic for all diseases of the lungs and respiratory tract. The LungenClinic was the first clinic in Germany to be certified as a lung centre by the State Hospital Committee of the Ministry of Health, making it the first centre of its kind to be certified nationwide.

HENKE + PARTNER developed architectural themes that create a sense of identity: sails, wings and airy, flowing stylistic elements characterise the overall appearance of the important areas in the new building and create a harmonious whole: concave-convex wooden supports, a sail shape in the entrance hall, a wing shape above the main corridor and a flowing orientation guidance system. The choice of materials and colours was developed in analogy to the CI colour matrix of the LungenClinic. The unique architecture creates a modern and healing environment for patients (healing architecture) as well as an attractive working environment for staff.

A special architectural language for a unique clinic – developed by HENKE + PARTNER!

We are delighted to announce the completion of the main phase (Step C) of our special LungenClinic project. The completion of the main phase includes the construction of a new ward block, an administration building and a connecting corridor. Over the next two years, work will continue on the existing buildings and the old ward block will be demolited. We would like to thank the team at LungenClinic, we are delighted that the move to the new building has been completed successfully and that they are now part of the everyday life at the clinic!
